The Government has introduced a blanket ban on all psychoactive drugs which gives the criminal fraternity enormous scope for illegal (and lucrative) trading.

I expect like myself, no one would know what these legal highs are all about, least of all object to them being made illegal

The legal highs are only legal by default. They are so new that no law has been made to ban them. The people who take them say that they are legal so they must be safe. It is a never-ending problem.

I am glad that I am not a parent - it is a different world out there from the one that I grew up in. It's not even safe to let my cats go out to play.

Anyone daft enough to think that just because something is not presently illegal it must be ok, are unsafe to be out on their own. Things made illegal are not necessarily wrong either.
