well if you would like to have it, have it.
I have been having the flu jab for the last 12 years (since 60) and I have had no problems.
I've been having the jab for 20 years and I've never had any side affects,I've never had the flu either.

Thank`s for two helpful answers
I've had it for the last 9 years or so, but if you're allergic to eggs you can't have i.
I always have one, no problems at all.
If you have had a flu jab before and it hasn't produced any untowards symptoms e.g fever, sweating, sore arm, then go ahead and have it.
With a bit of luck it will prevent or minimalise the effects of an influenza attack........no garantees, but it may.

I have no idea of the nature of you heart problem, but if your GP advices the jab, then have it.
i plan to get the jab next week. The price will pay itself back if i avoid getting flu this year
well the sista got it about 3 years ago and came over loaded badly with the flu and chest infection. I told her never again. But against my wishes she did it done again last two times and she was fine. Me I think I can get it but won't bother my w(hole) thank you very much.
I've had it and had no problems. It changes every year, though, to try to keep up with the latest viruses, so past experience isn't always a guide.
I,m having flu jab on Tuesday, and never had any reaction, so I say, go for it if your doctor says it will be ok for you.
I am in a similar position to you...I have been offered it for the first time and have a heart complaint but will not bother.... last time I had flu was in 1972 .... so seem to do ok without stuffing my body with chemicals!!
pusskin it if your doctor says it will be ok for you. - my mother used to say different doctors different patients die - your doctor is not always correct. but again each to their own.

I've had one for past 6 years (I'm 64) following Major Surgery, booked in again for next week, no problems experienced.
Jennyjoan, you may be right, doctors don't always know the best thing!
But what can you do if you don't know what to do?
I've also had it for years with no problem and no flu. Only symptoms I ever got is a bit of a sore arm after which is no price to pay if it may prevent you getting proper flu.

Booked in for mine this week, had to cancel mine yesterday as have a heavy cold but fingers crossed it will sod off for me to have it later in the week.
OMG - you already have a HEAVY cold and you are going for a flu jab - that sure would be the last thing on my mind - leave yourself alone for a few weeks.
