Is it harmful to click your fingers?

Is it harmful to click your fingers? I heard that it can cause arthritis in your fingers when you get older if you do it a lot.

not sure my mam n  nana used to say u get arthritis.think it just old wives tale,because the noise irratated them.

My mum always told me it caused arthritis as well, cause I did it a lot. Then I got arthritis at age 25! Freaked me out and I was convinced she had been right all along and it was my own fault, but just thought recently, "hang on I've got it in my shoulder and knee too and I didn't click those" so maybe it's just a coincidence.

My physio said it doesn't cause arthritis, but it can cause damage to the joints if done on a regular basis.  Not much help, sorry!

i heard that it doesnt but i dont knwo what to belive and i suffer clicking my finger it doesnt hurt but i get told not to do it by my mum its hard to stop does it give you arthritis~??? HELP!!!!
