Summer Colds

Has anyone got a cold? I`ve gone down with one - really painful throat, glands aching etc. God knows where I got it but I haven`t heard of any colds going around at the moment.

Maybe it's not a cold.

Yes. It's surprising at this time of year.

I think it is ummmm because I have started sneezing.

Yes my symptoms were coughing to a degree but constant nose running,clear at the beginning to green to an alarming bright yellow at the end and extreme fatigue,headache and loss of appetite. I'll be honest,it was scary. What are your symptoms?

Yes. Sore throat, and runny nose.

My throat isn`t sore or scratchy, it just really hurts (a bit like tonscillitis pain but over the whole throat), blocked ears (flew with that which didn`t help), now starting to sneeze. I`m just surprised because you normally know when there is a cold going around and I haven`t seen anyone coughing or sneezing.

I didn't realise that colds and sore throats went hand in hand.

Ummm - maybe people have different weak points because mine has always been my throat. I don`t think I have ever had a cold that didn`t start in the throat.

Runny nose, sore throats, aching limbs.........typical of upper respiratory virus infections (colds).

Sounds as though you have a "cold" picked up on your flight.......very common.

My husband and I have both got runny noses and sneezing a lot. We have also got headache and generally feeling tired. Don't know where it's come from!

I've had a throat virus for two weeks, with swollen glands etc. have felt really grotty.

Where did you fly from - Ebola still exists in some parts.

Sammy - I think this is the same bug. More throaty than in the nose. Did you cough up yellow gunk as well?

Just rid of mine. Get the tissues & the lozenges in!

I had a bad throat and chesty thing then a cold and still can't get rid of some of the mucus a few weeks on.

I know of a few other people that have or have had cold recently.

That sounds a bit like that virus that was going around before christmas that left people deaf and dragged on for weeks.

It`s great this bug - green gunk coming from nose, throat, blocked ears and I`ve now lost my voice. And all in 33 degrees of heat - lovely.
