does it matter what time of the day it is done ?

Some say it should be done first thing in the morning before taking your thyroxine .

That's not the consensus on Thryoid web pages, Sqad. They say it affects the results and you don't get a true result of what the levels are.
Makes no difference. Only cholesterol needs to be after a fasting.

Though surely if you take your Thyroxine in the morning by the afternoon/evening it must be at its optimal level to influence a blood test.
Fusion.....as you have gathered my medical advice is not governed by websites.

If your thyroid levels are abnormal or even normal last thing at night do you really think that 125 micrograms (microgams) is going to make the slightest bit of difference to your blood test?

Surely if you take your Tyroxine in the morning by the time afternoon/ evening comes you have optimal level in your blood that would sway a blood result.
I give in Fusion...........don't take your thyroxine before your blood test then.
My wife went yesterday at 2pm Fusion, no specific time given.
Fusion.......perhaps I was a bit short with you in my answer.

Your thyroid test is for your TSH levels which is an indication as to how well your thyroid has been doing over the past weeks.......not days and one dose of thyroxine will not significantly affect the result for diagnosis purposes either way.
