Please does anyone have a cure for toe nail fungal infection. I have had it on my large toe only for about 3 years. I have tried repeated "paint on" types of medication prescribed by my doctor with no success. I think they are all useless or may only work for certain individuals.
I realise there are tablets available but side effects may include kidney or liver damage.
Not worth the risk.

It sounds drastic I know, but the most sure-fire method is having the nail surgically removed, and allowing it to re-grow. - I don't think it's as bad a procedure as it sounds :0)
the doctor gave me a tablet ,forgotten the name but i could only take it 1 week in 4 and i had to leave my statins out that week . i took it for about 6 months and my nails are finally getting better . i only remember it was a dark green capsule .
Terbinafine tablets should do it.
If you want to try the natural remedies route, try tea tree oil and/or coconut oil. Both are said to have anti fungal properties.
I agree with Chipchopper - Terbinafine tablets from your GP. So-called natural remedies are unlikely to be effective.
Tried and tested and works on many things fungal including toes and horses hooves (thrush). Take 25 mls surgical spirit 10 drops of tea tree oil,10 drops of essential lavender oil (can buy in most chemists or health shops) shake together and dab on nail twice a day and last thing at night. Avoid getting on the skin. I also have more weird recipe including steeping Comfrey leaves and marigold petals in Surgical Spirit, but the above recipe works really well.
I applied Vick vapour rub to mine twice a day, on getting up and going to bed. You could see the difference in a week or two but you need to let the nail grow out naturally while applying it. It's a long process but it works. More info on the net if you Google it.
OH had toenails from hell - eventually the doc prescribed tablets lamisil / terbanifine which did the trick and were also very good for him as he couldn't drink while on the course.
Applying Vicks twice a day will do the trick
