I burnt the underside of my forearm on the oven, last week, and had two red wheals as a consequence. It was sore but didn't cause any problems.

At the weekend, I caught my arm on the side of a cardboard box and grazed the burns. They became even more sore and began to be weepy. I have been applying Sudocrem on an absorbent dressing and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. It's still painful and a bit 'mankey'.

I have some tea tree oil and some Manuka 10+ honey. Shall I try the tea tree or the Manuka? .........or something else?

Neither.

Sounds as though it may be infected.

Make an appt to see your GP tomorrow.
Don't mess about Tilly, GP tomorrow x
Applying any sort of cream could be making the situation worse. Suggest you visit Gp as previously said.

GP it is then, Thank you. It just seems a bit trivial.
Not trivial if not dealt with!
Oi Yilly, as a midlands gal ( albeit North ) you should know that mankey is never trivial !.

Should have said, manky, not mankey.
Let your local pharmacist have a look see, tilly.
Ouch Tilly! Hard not to brush against it.

I thought Sudocrem worked wonders. It doesn't seem to do much for me.
Sudocrem is very good Tilly normally. I think though because it's possibly infected & weeping it's not ideal. Great for scratches/ spots though.
just as an aside, pharmacists are an often underused but useful resource.

Oh!. Now, I don't know what to do. I'll see how it is tomorrow and then make a decision. Pharmacist or GP?
A dab of TCP and let it dry out Tilly. If it's still weeping in the morning.... Doctors! Having had Cellulitis a couple of years ago, I would recommend the Docs. Good luck xx
GP Tilly.
When I burnt my arm a few years back I went to the minor injuries clinic (advised by a nurse in the corner shop lol) They cleaned off the burn with an antiseptic wipe and dressed it telling me not to get it wet for at least 5 days.

The blister was quite big though....about the size of my palm.
clean with an antiseptic wipe..cover with a guaze dressing and keep dry...see GP if it doesn't heal or look like it is getting better..don't apply any creams etc ..important it is kept dry and clean..only a light breathable dressing..
That's what I had....a big gauze plaster. I couldn't remember what it was called.

Worked a treat. I was expecting a scar but when I removed the dressing it was just a little bit red and completely gone within a few weeks.

I've had worse scars burning myself on the iron...
