I posted here http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Question1410110-2.html a couple of weeks ago about getting short of breath.
I got a GP appointment and was sent for chest xray, ECG, and a range of blood tests (organs, sugar etc). Have rang up the surgery today and have been told that all tests have come back normal. Cant get in to see the doctor for another week to see where we go from here but has anyone got any idea (or any experience) of what else can be done/tested for?
I woke again last night and felt short breathed and sometimes when Im talking its like my breath 'catches'.
Beginning wonder if its psychological?
Thanks as always for any replies guys.

sounds likely.
Surprised your GP didn't consider Spirometry, might be worth a punt when you next see him/her. Could be early onset of COPD.
back to gp nailit.

bednobs //sounds likely// you mean its likely psychological?
Penelope, just googled spirometry, will mention it next appointment, thanks
anne, seems that way. Probably just turn out that im overweight :-(
OK...the facts:

Slightly overweight.....short history of breathlessness.....fully investigated, with all returning back to normal.

In medicine, it is more common after investigating a symptom that all results come back normal, being much more common than the results showing a "reason.".....so nothing unusual there.

Spirometry....a good call from the lovely penelope and a bit early in the game to play that useful trump card...(thank God for Google, who needs human beings?).

I think, at this moment, i would back the post of bednobs 12.46.

Your GP will make the next decision.
^^^^ squad; 'the lovely penelope'. Been called worse :-)
