A couple of weeks ago I had some out of date houmous which gave me diarrhoea- up all night on the toilet. This resulted in cystitis for which I had antibiotics for 6 days. Now I seem to have a bad cough/cold and pain in my right side/ back just below the waist on the fat bit. I can't even straighten up with pain and it hurts when I cough. I do get back problems though so is this pain back or kidney? It doesn't hurt when I'm still. Should I take ibuprofen or paracetamol?

It doesn't sound like kidney area, from your description, more of a muscular strain from coughing.

You could take either OR both as suggested bu bednobs.

Me? I would take Ibuprofen and monitor the situation over the weekend.
