and i bet your diabetes is poorly controlled.

If i am correct, then that is the cause of your night time excursions.

on Metformin...2 tablets, 3 times a day. Type 2 is just borderline.
me too hammerman althugh none of the above apply, been to consulant urologist had scans , numerous blood tests and now prescribed something called fesoterodine but have had to stop them because of side effects, nausea, insomnia, cramps, dizzy spells..waiting for meds review..in the meantime bang on 2 hourly intervals through the night, even when I have nothing after 8pm.....
That is a fairly hefty wack of anti diabetic tablets for someone who is borderline type 2 diabetes.

Or do you mean that you are "borderline" BECAUSE of your medication?

When dod you have your blood tests done last and what were the results?
Question Author
have blood tests done every 6 months sqad. All i know is my results are around 50.....whatever hat means
hammerman, that is a bit low and certainly would not account for your night-time peeing.

Ask if you could have a HBa1C at your next visit....it's a blood test.
Time for a change H. There's a lot of sugar in beer, so cut right down on it and reduce your consumption of cakes, chips, sweets, biscuits, chocolate and cream.
Question Author
The beer doesn't seem to make a difference....i can go 2 weeks without a beer and no change.
Had an Hba1c test a few years ago....no probs.

had these symptoms for about 3 years now. Just never go round to mentioning it to my GP. Will do next visit.

So who checked your prostate........your next door neighbour?
Question Author
Haha....lol. Docs checked prostate a few years ago, never mentioned night time weeing to them.
OK ;-)
So can't things change drastically within a few years? To my cost, I know they can.

Anyway, I had similar once. Not wanting to see the doctor, I went down the herbal root and discovered saw palmetto. Worked for me, look it up.
50? Are you sure that is right? I'm full on Type 2 and take 1 metformin, 3 times a day.
50 is very low if it is measured in mg/dl.
-- answer removed --
My HbA1c is measured in mmol/mol and 48 is my target for 'good control' so 50 isn't too far off that.
