My Dad had series of seizures, last night, lasting for over one hour. The longest seziure lasted for over seven minutes.
He has made it through the night and is still 'asleep'. Am I right in thinking that that those seziures will have taken an enormous toll on his brain function? He has never had seizures before and is not epileptic.
I will be asking this question, again when I go to the hopital later. I did ask it last night and was told, 'We don't know, until he wakes up'.

I'm sorry to hear that, Tilly. When my nephew comes round from his seizures he's always very tired and confused.
He developed epilepsy as the result of an accident.
Hope all is well.
can't offer personal advice but here's a link (that doesn't seem to say very much that you haven't already been told)

There may be many reasons as to why he had these and all you can do is wait and see what the hospital can discover - so hard for you all.

Take care Tilly.

Thank you all. I have looked at that website this morning, thank you, jno. I found it difficult to know which of it relates to my Dad.

Suad it's a very long and complicated story. Basically, Dad is receiving only palliative care... lung disease, dementia and is at end of life stage. Now these seizures have added to the myriad of things which ail him.

He is awake now and able to move slightly and they have done a CT scan to assess what, if any, damage has been done.

Thanks, sibs. I'm ok today. Yesterday was a nightmare. xx

Thinking of you Tilly, all the best...
