Neuropathy isn't a disease.....it is a description of many diseases including the nerve complications of many diseases..e.g diabetes or Vit B12 defy.

More details please.
I am not a medic, but I always understood neuropathy to be more of a symptom of disease, rather than a disease in itself. For example, neuropathy can be a serious side effect of uncontrolled diabetes. In that instance, whether or not it is progressive would depend on how diabetes is controlled. Poor control would cause the neuropathy to extend. Neuropathy also occurs neurological illnesses such as MS. Again, the extent of the neuropathy depends on the seriousness of the neurological damage. This is my understanding of the condition, but I may be wrong, and if I am I would be pleased if someone in the medical profession would put me right.
chane5's answer is "bang on the money"...a good answer.
