My family in my case.....you get a funny shaped nose with a bump in the middle....

And if you go anywhere in Kerry with the nose people say....Ahh....you must be a *****....I recognise the nose....:-(

You well, Ferlew?..xx
When they were allocating them I misheard and thought they were offering roses.
'I'll have a big red one', I said.
pugilism. alcohol abuse :(
There are multiple sets of genes at work; governing which areas of bone are going to grow, when and for how long. The nose shape you had as an infant isn't necessarily what you end up with.

So, if the genes for 'build a nose' turn out to be very similar across many thousands of individuals, then the variation has to be due to the control genes. It's analagous to the old chesnut about there only being 8 notes but millions of combinations of how to combine them plus playing 'style' on top (as in cover versions).

I look like my mum and my sister looks like my dad. Except I have dads eyes and hair and my sister has mums eyes and hair.

Over 43 years, I have seen Mr F's nose change dramatically, his is now so much like his mum's was.
Of course, mine is just as sweet and neat as it's always been ;)

^^^ Douglas for best answer, made me laugh out loud :)
very good.
////What governs the size of a nose? ////

Mine seems to be the same size as that of my identical twin brother.
I like Douglas's answer, too.
I'm astounded by how my son's nose has changed in just a few years. He had a small, cute one until about the age of 13 and then suddenly developed the unfortunate one from me and my dad.
Cheers, ferlew. :-)

My pleasure :)
Hmm, now I know how it feels when I award BA to the answer which was the most humourous, not the one with was most technically correct.

Thanks for the life lesson, ferlew

Awwwwww sorry :(
It's ears that fascinate me.

Have you seen the size of some people's ears?
Gigantic, some of them.
Am I wrong, or do they keep on growing all your life so the older you are, the bigger they'll be.
(Despite my age, mine, of course remain small and perfectly formed...except my lobes are too small for clip on earrings which has always disappointed me)
ladyalex....that's something I've noticed.......lookee here.....
