Does anyone recall if the meningitis rash was treated with iodine 50 years ago?

Sorry hc4361....I have no idea, but you will get some answers from other Abers.
I thought the rash that sometimes accompanies meningitis was burst blood vessels under the skin caused by septicemia, how would topical iodine have any effect?

I don't know, daffy.
I remember iodine as being something that was used generally for cuts grazes spots boils and rashes but not specifically for meningitis rash.
