I have suffered from a sore hip and a slightly achy knee for about 12 months now. I am now concerned as the middle of my spine has started to ache also, and I'm wondering whether Glucosamine might help my problem as I don't wish to become reliant on painkillers. As a pensioner I imagine my problem is cause by general wear and tear.

I think the benefits of taking glucosamine are not proven...and I think you would need to start taking it long before your problems came to light for there to be any beneficial effects (if any!) noticeable.
It's very popular. But I've never seen it make any difference.
