wider shoes

my father is 92 and cannot walk very well, due to circulation problems his feet and ankles swell up, i cannot find a pair of shoes that fit him he says they are all to tight, they have to be smooth on the sole and lightweight, he is housebound, does anyone know where I can find shoes that fit.
