Please, does anyone know a website that I can use to go ex- directory.I`ve
phoned Talktalk twice [30 mins each time] and they`ve told me it`s sorted but it`s not. I`ve tried a GOV. website but it wont accept my phone number. I`ve never been let down by you clever lot yet so hear`s hoping!!

Do you actually pay TalkTalk for the line rental? I'm with them but the line rent goes to BT and they are the one who made me ex-directory.
Go onto the Talktalk website and log into your account.

Go to Manage boosts and there should be a privacy option.

Yes, I pay talk talk rental so I suppose BT wouldn`t want to know, would they. She did say she was ringing the GPO!!

Thanks HOPKIRK, will do tomorrow, 2 glasses of wine!!!!!!
Quite apart from the wine, their site is 'experiencing technical difficulties' tonight.
how do you know youre not ex dir?

if your num is already out there it wont stop them calling
I had a real problem when the last directory came out. They had omitted our number but we wanted it in! I rang Talktalk but they said it was BT's error as the line rental when you are with Talktalk is paid via TT to BT. I rang BT who said it was TalkTalk's error, this went on for days each blaming the other, I must have been on the phone for hours. I was at screaming point with both of them so I threw the phone down and left it as the directory was already printed and I couldn't do anything anyway. Now it's almost time for it to be printed again and I definitely want to be included. Who do I contact? Any ideas please?
Does anyone actually read the phone book these days? (except for telemarketing companies)
or the Thomsons Local, complete waste of paper.
... and the Yellow Pages.

They arrive, get shoved in the little cupboard, then a year or so later they go into the recycling.
You can't erase it from the present directory or previous ones. I was ex-directory for a long time but I still got unwanted calls. You could get your number changed, I think, that might help. Don't know how you do it but I'm sure someone will know.
odd hopkirk, that's exactly what happens to mine.
I used to compile telephone directories....................worst job I ever had. I did some marvellous typos :-)
Don't worry Crafty - no one would ever notice.
Hi Waylen,
Ex-Directory is controlled by your ISP. If you are with TalkTalk at present please either Tweet us @TalkTalkCare or join the TalkTalk Members Forum where we can make any directory changes as necessary. This cannot remove your details from existing printed phonebooks, but it will prevent your number appearing in future publications and also remove your number from any online directories.
