laser lipo

my daughter is treating me to a trial session laser lipo as I despair of my bingo wings...are there any counterindications to the procedure ? I had 2 strokes nearly 10 years ago. Thankfully I recovered completely from them. I enjoy walking the dogs, go to the gym everyday for 1/2 hour of gentle exercise. I am slightly overweight (5lbs), and just over 70......I am very tempted but will only do so if safe.

The only experience I have of lipo is a colleague who had it done on her thighs, the bruising was dreadful. If all you have to worry about is bingo wings, can't you concentrate on upper arm exercises when you go to the gym?

Boxtops, I do, I do....but it takes so long and my age is against me....I am in a hurry to see results.....methinks I shall visit the doctor to make sure...
In a word:

DON'T!!!!!
I'd rather just wear a cardigan. The thought of having any non-essential procedure gives me the heeby jeebies.
I agree with Tilly. My daughter had this on her thighs and a couple of years later they are back to square one. Why go through this procedure when it is not necessary?
Yes, there are some "relative" contraindications but even so if OKd by your GP should be fine.

Two strokes that have been resolved, should notnbe a bar to the procedure.

I would take the trial session.
At risk of sounding ageist...

At 70 isn't "batwings" part and parcel of getting older? I'm sure you think they look far worse than they actually are, I bet no one else notices. And only 5lbs overweight? Pffft, lucky you!

I know you didn't ask for personal opinions, especially from someone who's not had it done and no intentions of doing so either, but still....
BOO....there are 70yr olds and 70 yr olds.
I have seen women in their mid 70's that look younger and more attractive than some women in their mid 50's.
True sqad, i was basing it on what I look like now and what i'll probably (sadly) look like when i'm 70....lol
BOO........?.you will do for me............
<smacks sqad>

Go away!

Far too early in the morning!
I don't know about the safety aspects, but I wouldn't have a procedure because of vanity. And certainly not at my age.( a bit younger than you)
Try carrying several kilos of heavy shopping 3-4 times per week-alternating arms. That will cure bingo wings...I haven't got any,I am happy to say.

well I am back from the trial session......I got thoroughly bored during the 20 minutes session.....glad I did it, but won't sign for a course.....
problem with getting old is that time is precious and there is so little of it left....I wonder how I ever did have the time to work....
thank you to all for the input.....now a quick walk with my beloved dogs....
May i supposed that while you are speaking of a trial session you refer to a non surgical procedure (so we don't speak about laser liposuction)!

There are many non surgical laser lipo technologies (like i lipo: http://www.lipoadvisor.com/i-lipo/ or Zerona: http://www.lipoadvisor.com/Zerona/ ) which are pretty safe and they have nothing to do with heart attacks.. of course you should contact your Personal doctor to make sure that there is no danger at all
