Has anyone ever sold their hair?

My daughter has waist length blond hair which she is having chopped off tomorrow (she has taken to wearing a black wig as part of her Goth phase) and wants to get the best price possible. Has anyone ever sold their hair? (Please dont suggest donating it to the charity that makes wigs for cancer patients as the mercenary madam wants some cash)

I remember reading about people selling there hair to make extra money in a newspaper a few weeks ago, a wig maker in london i think it is had the best prices, but you have to be very careful how to actually store the hair when she gets it cut. it has to be kept in a tight ponytail so all the hair strands are the same way.
