High Internal Reflectivity

What does this mean, in relation to a choroidal naeve (a freckle in the eye).

Most of the light that enters it, instead of passing through, is reflected back inside. It's used as a means of determining whether it's a benign naevus or a potentially malignant melanoma (melanomas tend to have a low internal reflectivity).
