post bladder op advice please

My dad had a cyst removed from the inside of his bladder five weeks ago. They told him it would take six weeks to heal but he's been in a lot of pain and still weeing blood.
He has had two infections, with antibiotics, and has 'passed' two or three scabs too. (sorry, I know it's not nice!)

I want him to ring to check that it should still be so bad, but he just says he's waiting for the six weeks.
Today he said he had a wee that was more the colour of port! Does that mean it's healing? Do you think he should wait a week, or check that it's ok?

Bleeding after a bladder operation is common and not a sign for panic, providing that he is still passing urine without pain, which seems to be the case in Dad's case.

The big problem is that of clot retention, which is when a clot of blood blocks the flow of urine causing extreme pain.

This does not seem to be the case with Dad who is passing his water freely.

I would wait for his routine appointment.

Squad i've noticed in the health questions a lot of people ask you for advice, are you a medic? sorry i'm curious as all your answers have been spot on as far as i know ( as a non medic)
