Where will the needles go?

I have signed up for some Acupuncture for persistent ankle pain. I was wondering where they will put the needles? Is it specific to the area or is it different per person? Do they always put the needles in the same place on everyone who has the same type of pain? Thanks

yes, many years ago I had a knee problem. I remember thinking none of the needles are going into the knee - but it worked
For really severe low back pain a few weeks ago..shoulders,hands,feet as well as lower back. Don`t know how on earth it works but I got off the couch pain free. Bliss. She told me to relax for the evening but I came home and dug up some more lawn with no pain.
My partner has needles in his back and some in the hand for asthma - it works ok for him. I've tried it with a painful shoulder a while back, and it didn't do a thing for me - it works for some people, not others. I imagine that you will have some around the foot and ankle, and probably others around the body.
