I know this might sound like a simplistic answer but could it be trapped wind?

Trapped wind can be very painful and doesn't just cause stomach pains xx

I thought the same omg its painful big belch needed then?
That doesn't actually work if the wind is trapped, I don't think. I think it's a case of sitting it out.
Have you got a hot waterbottle or anything like that? put one on your stomach and one on your back. Try sipping a hot drink with anything pepperminty in.
Could be many things..........
How old are you? Are you on any medication? have you any underlying health problems? Did you go out for a big meal last night. Have yo ever had this before?

Up to this point I cannot improve upon the suggestions by the above two eminent ABers.
morning sqad
Morning woody.....have just fed the cats and now made myself a cup of Earl Grey..............exciting life eh;-)
For "woody" read "woofy"
I have walked the dogs and have darjeeling...serene start to the day.
Sounds fine to me.

Thank you so much well I managed to doze off and it appears to have disappeared this morning! Strange!!
Good to hear it's disappeared - I get that feeling with trapped air. It's made me throw up before with it. I have my ant-acid meds and some peppermint stuff on standby to help out.

I've fed the cats and just made a coffee, not exciting either but lovely - looks like a lovely day outside :)
Glad you are ok, but everyone please be aware that a heart attack can start with symptoms like this ....... my husband had one in 2005 and it all started by him saying the same thing, thinking it was trapped wind and heavy pressure in chest ...... they got him to hospital very quickly and thankfully he recovered well.
