between left ear and tonsil, its blinkin agony but the doctor didnt give me anything for it or some advise to alleviate the pain, instead she gave me gaviscon because my throat looked red ummm thats because im shouting at the dog and toddler to stop the bickering!

How do you know that's the problem? Go back then - or go and see your local pharmacist, ask for their advice.

Gaviscon isn't for sore throats.

That's what I thought, but maybe they sell more than one thing ?

I guess you can't get any relief by holding your nose and trying to blow, can you ? No, probably a bit to simplistic I guess.

Not sure what you are asking and certainly not sure of the value of a pharmacist's opinion after seeing your GP.

If you were given Gaviscon, then clearly the GP thought that your sore red throat was due to acid reflux.

If you condition is not resolving, then return to your GP for re-evaluation.

sometimes, sqad, and depending on the calibre of your GP, a pharmacist can be more up to date with new medication etc :-)
