I've always used Deet (various repellents contain it, in different strengths).

Avon Skin so Soft oil comes in different fragrances now - I've heard it is only the original one which works, is that correct?

Eating marmite every day for two weeks before you go also helps. Apparently, mosquitos don't like the smell this leaves on your skin. I have heard brewer's yeast tablets can also help for the same reason.

Another vote for skin so soft, the one in the blue bottle.

tropical strength (50 % deet) Avon SSS oil spray % and taking B vitamins 2 weeks before journey. Chloroquine and sometimes proguanil are needed. Any good pharmacy will have an up to date list of what you need (and vaccinations). If i remember correctly the chloroquine are to be taken weekly... 2 weeks before...during your holiday ...and most importantly 4 for 4 weeks on return.

yeast tablets - i don't think they like the smell. they are tasteless and you can;t whiff it - i've also heard marmite lovers get bitten less (well...it is disgusting!) x
