I hired one for a month. They seem to be quite good fun,but I read a lot about the different types of vibration.....simpley speaking ,there is up and down or oscillating. Both are ''good '' for different reasons.I got somewhat confused by all their marvelous claims, especially when reading research by someone in Australia who claimed that most of the ones on the market are totally useless....and its all a money making scam seemingly...I will try and find this for you.The man in question has developed his own vibration plate-and of course it is highly expensive...because according to him -it is made properly!
Another thing to ponder is -for what purpose do I want it for?For me it was medical...ie would it help my joints-as I had just been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.Walking was agony, vibrating may have been beneficial.Honestly dont know really.
one small thought....don't buy before you try....incase you are aiming in this direction.Give yourself time to go to a gym,or hire one.I know a lot of people give up...hence hundreds on E-bay!...so what does this show.....
They will only work in conjunction with a proper exercise routine. They don't have any Cardio Benefit either. I work in a Gym where we have the high end Powerplate Machines and as far as I can tell, all the ladies who want to lose weight and think it will be a quick fix, look exactly the same as when they started. Those people who are healthy eaters and do regular exercise see the best benefits. I guess they can be good to help with Circulation.
I've got one.
I suffer from restless legs and shin cramps and it stops both dead in their tracks
My knees feel better for it and I understand it is good for bone density for, ahem, ladies of a certain age
Yes I agree it can definitely help prevent and lessen the effects of Osteoporosis.
