I have dyed my grey hair for many years. How can I lighten the colour safely? Many thanks in advance for all answers offered.

It will be a bleach job... unless you try one of the colour removers first you can get them in superdrug
Go to the hairdresser. Don't mess about with home dyes to lighten already darkened hair as you could end up with orange hair (I did a few months ago).
Agree with Daffy. Go to a hairdresser.
They can do all sorts , like put in lots of 'lowlights' all over your head which lightens your hair all over...not streaks, very subtle effect.
Yes, I must agree have it done at the hairdressers, My nieghbour tried to do hers lighter & ended up 'Green' & then ended up at the hairdressers.
I know if you're on a budget its hard but you've only got one head of hair, look after it. (You're worth it).

Jem.
