after almost 4 weeks of feeling awful, started with a bad earache, lost much of my hearing, headaches and head feels stuffed up, had a cough to go along with it, mucus laden, then after one course of antibiotics, which may or may not have caused the runs, got an even worse dry hacking cough, so little or no sleep. Seen doctors any number of times, i'm not good at this, become rather fearful and my stomach has been in a state, can hear all this swishing and rumbling. When i eat it seems to aggravate the stomach problems, do get acid reflux, and get very hot, on and off. Chest x ray clear, as was blood test for liver, thyroid, and urine test for any kidney problems so i'm stuck. I hate going back to the doctor, but not sure what to do next. Taking omezoprole, sorry not correct spelling for acid reflux, but nothing else. The cough goes on but now it's just clear liquid.
sorry if this upsets some, bit graphic, and i know the doctors are fed up with seeing me, as much as i am being there. Feel dry constantly and now
wonder if the anxiety has returned in abundance and is doing it's work...

the doctors have no business being fed up with seeing you - their business is curing you, and they aren't. Go and see them again. I'll leave Sqad or someone to suggest any lines of inquiry they ought to be pursuing, but good luck.
Not that I can help particularly but might help more knowledgeble than me... what symptoms do you still have? Is it the cough, the acid reflux/tummy probs and feeling hot and cold? Or have you still got the symptons you state initally (earache etc)?
Oh em, can't offer any advice but hope you eill be on the mend soon x
Sometimes the only thing is to let nature take it's course and let your body heal itself. The doc should be able to help though, even if just with symptoms. Never mind how you think they feel, if you aren't feeling well go ask for further advice, or a more effective treatment.
You are only assuming that the doctors are fed up with you.......have they told you?....................they might be.

The salient points here are loss of hearing, headaches and feeling stuffed up which would suggest a sinus and/or Eustachian tube problem. You need to see an ENT surgeon.

sqad, had sinus infection before, in fact more than once, and am under the care of the ENT hospital for tinnitus, vertigo. And yes i do know how it seems to some doctors when they can't get to the bottom of the problem, just as i feel frustrated with presenting myself as some sort of weakling. I have been offered anti depressants, and whilst i can say i am depressed now, it's because of a protracted illness, it didn't start out that way.
It's quite possibly a sinus infection brought on by a viral illness, so will see if can get hold of the ENT consultant i normally see.

I wish you well by the way for your recovery, am glad you are home.

just to add that when it started, the tinnitus went through the roof, so loud it's cut off my hearing, but it has calmed down a bit, usually i know the sinus infection signs, especially the smell which is horrible, and taste, but not this time.
