They do a lot of experimental clinical trials at Kent and Canterbury Hospital here, and seek healthy (mostly) men to take part, who have to fit a number of health criteria. However - since it all went very wrong in London a few years back, I don't think I'd want to to it. "safe to some extent" is probably your key phrase..... http://www.i-sis.org.uk/LDTC.php

They do trials like this in Edinburgh a company called Charles Rivers Laboratories. My huband did it once I think it was for a cold remedy, he didn't have any problems but he had to go to Heriot Watt University in fact they have contacted him a few times since then but the timings have not suited so he hasn't taken part again but he says he would do it again. If you are unsure though don't take part

I am interested in the memory trials advertised here(Scotland) for the Glasgow Memory Clinic. However I don't relish the idea of anyone doing things to my brain.
Opinions please. http://www.memoryclinic.com/alzheimers/ |

I don't think you should be put off by one example of something going wrong. The reason that was in the news is because that happening is so uncommon. I'm sure medical trials take place all the time without a hitch.
Isn't there someone you could speak to from the organisation that could provide you information on the risks? |
