I occasionally get the most intense itching under my toes or on the ball of my foot - so bad it almost drives me mad, I have to stop what I'm doing and hold my foot really hard until it hurts or drag my toes along the carpet. My doctor cannot think of an explanation - I am healthy in every other way, but I would love to know what causes it. It is obviously the nerve endings but I don't know what triggers it.

Ive posted something similar ann...my feet feel on fire! I plaster them in cream and bear it till it goes away after a few mins :0( hell knows what it is xx
I get this sometimes too and wonder if it has something to do with bad circulation. OH suffers neuropathy in his feet (nerve damage) and he sometimes gets this so it could be bad circulation going by that but can't be sure.
A lot of diabetics get it.

Athlete's foot is, after all, a fungus that lives in the skin.
