Right let me clear this up first. I am single and haven't been anywhere near anyone in a very long time so I am defo not pregnant.

I have signs of PCOS I have had blood tests and they came back ok. I have dark facial hair and generally hairy all over. Hold weight, spotty neck, coarse thick black hairs on my neck, hairy belly, arms and face, mood swings etc. Only thing is my period was regular every month so they said it couldn't be this (even though it runs in the family)

My last period was 3 months ago now. It has never been this late, maybe a few days nothing more. I am seriously worried as I have had no symtoms of PMS or anything. I have been a little stressed but nothing major. I was unemployed for a good while and recently returned to full time work which I initially found a struggle and very tiring.

I do have an under active thyroid thats controlled by medication.

I just don't want to go the docs and they think I am wasting their time. What should I do????

p.s I can't take the pill as I have a reaction to it as it doesn't agree with me....

Why, pinklady, don't you want to go to the doctor? This is the obvious place to do, nobody will think you are wasting their time. They are there to help and will understand your concern about your state of health, and if need be can refer you for investigations to see why you're not menstruating. I take you've have lost weight drastically or anything like that over the past three months? Please make an appointment on Monday - if you have a nurse practitioner in the surgery you can ask to see her if you would rather not see the doc about it - but GPs see all sorts, it won't be as unusual as you may think it is. It's worrying you and that's enough reason to get some clinical advice.
as boxtops says, that's what doctors are for! Do make an appointment.
Boxy is right pink, go get checked though is likely the PCOS is the cause here or maybe the meds for thyroid. See the professionals and good luck.

Thanks ladies!! I'm not sure what to expect. My period was due around the time my best friend told me she was pregnant too. I know its very weird for them to stop suddenly too. I am just so scared but your right for my own health I need to get checked. My doctor said I have all the symptoms of PCOS but they can't seem to diagnose me yet??? I feel like a freak most of the time x
Don't feel like that, hormones are a blooming nuisance get all checked and then seek advice as to help, there are lots of help sites around and it is very common.
No big deal.... amenorrhoea is a common situation with PCOS.

Could be due to too lower dosage of thyroxine, but only a blood test could decide that.

I think it's irrelevant of the confusion of usernames as this is my thread...
not having a period for 3 months is a good reason to see the doctors, its your health remember and their job. book an appointment in the morning, it will put your mind at rest and it will stop you imagining the worst x

lol of course not, A woman in the waiting room once told me she came up to see the doctor because she was bored at home on her own! at least you have a reason to be there x

Hiya ladies, just wanted to update you.

I went the docs today and she wants me to have blood tests and an ultra sound scan asap. She said it could be connected to my thryroid as I have an under active one but I'm on medication for it (she suggested it may need upping). Just trying not to worry until we get answers now. Blood tests on monday should get results next friday and scan will probably be in a few weeks time... Thanks guys xxx
There are many things you can dot to ease the symtoms
of PCOS. Many women who have not had they menstrual cycle as a result of PCOS do well by taking Vitex tincture. Also following a PCOS diet may help you as well.
pinkchick....thanks for the update. My guess?

Scan .....normal.
Thyroid tests will indicate that you need to update your thyroxine dose.
