Claire, I always have by me a little emergency dental kit which you can get from the chemist (certainly from Boots). It's got a little pot of cement in it, great for replacing fillings in an emergency, and if you get the right one it should be able to refix the crown on a temporary basis until you can see the dentist.
I know you can get emergency dental repair kits in chemists-might be worth a try? I can sympathise with you coz I am having a new crown done today!!

thank you both, theres a Boots branch in town. Am a bit squeamish about teeth .
got a new one yesterday - am very pleased! I had a veneer before this and it had been coming loose and I was going on holiday but not enough time to get it properly fixed and the dentist gave me some denture cream stuff for securing dentures. Advised it would help if veneer losened off but not to sleep with it in. Hope you are ok til Tuesday.
