You have to be patient tamirra - if the nose drops and ABs are going to work, you have to give them enough time. I know you're worried, but obvious causes have to be ruled out first.
The power of the mind is tremendous - if you're getting really anxious about this, it could be making it seem worse.
There are other, rarer, causes. But wait it out for the next 2 weeks and hopefully it will have improved or gone completely.

Rarer causes being? she has looked up my nose and seen its swollen and inflamed but ive had sinus infections before with lots of pain in the sinus's but ive nothing this time thats what worrying me.
I'd rather not say tamirra, because I suspect it will make your anxiety about it even worse, and I genuinely do think it is a sinus problem rather than anything else. Please, give the ABs and spray a chance before you start exploring othe options and diagnoses.

Thats worried me now anyway lol, brain tumour?
It can be a symptom yes - but please - this is rare. The chances of it being so, rather than a nasal or sinus problem are very low. So please don't worry.

I wouldn't have said anything, but I had the feeling you would google it or start 'researching' on the internet - and that can scare you witless sometimes. A little knowledge can be a dangerous, and worrying, thing !!!

Yes thats true, i will try not to worry and hope it clears soon as this smell is awful, it smells like when your at the crematorium after a body has been cremated, thats what it smells like.
tamirra, don't go jumping to any conclusions, just yet. Even the simplest of symptoms such as Hiccups can have rare causes, but usually turn out to be innocent. Give the meds time to kick in and if still unhappy go back and ask the Doctor the thngs that are scaring you.

Take care.

Ive given the meds 2 whole days now and usually they would have started to help the situation, but there not and the symptoms i think are worse, maybe the antibiotics are not strong enough, its 500mg amoxicillen.
If it is a bacterial infection you may indeed need a different antibiotic, though Amoxicillin is the first port of call, there are others too. If you feel you are worse rather than better, go back and discuss it.
Two days also isn't really a long time for a drug to start working.
To try and set your mind at rest Tamirra - as I said in your previous post, I had this nasty burning smell in my nose. I created merry heck at my hubby coz I said the drains smelt rotton, no one else could smell it so I went to the doc's. I got the nasal spray (which I still have to use) and anti bio's - neither worked so I was sent for an xray of my head and sinuses. Apart from a nasal polyp all was clear. It took a while, (and more anti bio's) for the smell to go and, fingers crossed, I haven't had it since.
Good luck to you and try not to worry, easier said than done I know xx

Thank you masma for your answer, actually it dosnt smell quite so bad today, well at the moment anyway, will fill you in later if its got worse or not. xx
Question Author
God its still bad im afraid to say, no better at all, it seems to get worse as the day progresses, fed up with it now. xx
Maybe you should ring your doc again?
Tamirra, give the antibiotics time. You haven't been taking them for very long. And the burning smell is usually to do with sinus infection. You said yourself that your nose was blocked every morning. Calm down!!
try to give it a couple more days Tamirra...

If it helps put your mind at rest in any way - I heard that its the smell of burning rubber thats a symptom related to a brain tumour as opposed to just a general burning smell...

And they are very rare indeed.

Give the medication another couple of days to see if its any better
Question Author
Surely with a sinus infection as ive had before you get pain in the sinus and headache and generally feel yuck, but ive got none of these symptoms at all, thats whats making me think it cant be sinus infection. x
follow the medication instructions 'to the letter'.. and contact your GP if in a few days time they are not working at all...

Have you had any other symptoms as well?
Question Author
Other than headaches which i always suffer from then no nothing.
