I have an elliptical strider (crosstrainer) that I do 20 minutes on a day. However, this does not seem to be making a difference in my weight so I wonder what the recommended time a day (how long to spend on it a day) would be on one of these exercise machines in order to make a significant difference to your weight.

I don't eat a great deal of junk food, and I probably only eat 1 meal a day (don't usually have time for breakfast and usually stick to a sandwich or something for lunch). On top of that I'm averagely active in day-to-day life, I walk everywhere and am up and about at 9am every morning.

you're probably not eating enough to get your metabolism going!

what is your bmi?
you should try and have breakfast as this kick starts your metabolism I have porridge and toast every morning during the week, and once a week i have egg bacon the works, and have managed to loose two stone.
I agree, you arent eating enough
but, that daily chocolate bar has to go too.......gotcha!
Fruitsalad is 100% on the money. Breakfast starts the metabolism, and if you dont eat till lunch time then your "body clock" wont start burning carbs/calories/fat. I've just lost 8 and a half stone and right throughout had 3 meals a day. You need to feed the machine! The excercise at 20mins a day was good for me though.....good luck
