Thank you, granny grump, that is a really good website. I am sure she will be able to get something from there. I have never experienced it myself, but my friend is really in distress and it is awful to see.
No oldmegan I havent suffered from it but a friend has and I thinksome treatments are based on replacing the 'buzzing' in the ears with another less distressing sound like 'musical' pillow not sure how successful this is
I have tinnitus and yes replacing it with soft music does help a lot.
I have suffered for over two years.I attend the tinitus clinic and they found I had a bit of hearing loss. I have been given hearing aids and what a difference they have made. The night time after I take them out is still a problem but I now enjoy my days which makes a big difference to your life..The noises were coming to the fore because I was straining to hear.
I find having headphones in helps as the music from them seems to fool it somehow, or at least distract me :)
I put radio 4 on very quietly at night - it segues into the world service and provides a background chumbly counterpoint that diistracts from the buzz-drum in my ears.
Is it definitely tinnitus or could it possibly be an ear wax problem? Olive oil is a simply way of clearing a build up of wax.
