I have to take 400mg daily for water retention but this morning although I have forgotten to take one I can`t stop going to the loo to relieve myself, and the flow is very good. Do you think it`s alright to stop taking them and give my kidneys a rest? I have been taking them for about five years and initially I had to have an tube inserted into my bladder. Not a nice procedure........ Ouch.

carlton.........the flow may be good, but are the amounts that you are passing, small and have you got the feeling that after passing water, 5mins later you want to go again.

In other words, the same symptoms that you had, which initiated Tamsulosin treatment.

If the answer is yes, then get back on the tablets, but if the answer is no, then lay off them for a week or two.
