I have a cut on my nose from my puppy. It has healed but remains a reddish purple color, how long will it stay this way?

Probably forever.

Wrong answer...it will probably fade in time..........................!!
Do I detect some stropiness Sqad! ;o)
I think it depends on the individual - me myself I seem to retain my scars (;0 (
Yes me too, DEN, but they don't remain reddish purple they have faded, even the one on me nose!!

DEN...good morning.
Lotty - my hysterectomy scar is still a reddish colour from 13 years ago but my thyroid scar from 4 years ago is barely noticable but I do use the Prolegene Gel on it.
Morning Sqad - hows you today ?
I have just inspected the scar I have right across my pelvis (don't ask!) and one end is still reddish purple and the other is skin tone. I wish I hadn't looked - 'tis not a pretty sight!!
DEN...fine thanks....just putting my final touches to a dirty weekend in the UK this weekend...............pity I don't come to Essex.....:-)
Bring your thermal long johns - you'll need them - bloody freezing over here!!!
My vasectomy scar is only visible if you get really really close.
Are you bringing Mrs. Sqad over for Valentines Day ?

Thanks for the advice everyone! I eneded up using a silicone gel sheet just large enough to cover the area, 12 hours a day, it's almost completely gone! The trick is to use it as soon as the wound heals and keep it up for the next several weeks.
It takes sometime to lighten. Try some home remedies for reducing the scar from the following website http://www.home-remed...kin-problems/acne.htm
