You should really see an improvement in taking any antibiotics by day 3, especially a 500mg tablet 3 times a day. I would give your doctor another call.
Hi tamirra,

If you've been taking it since Wednesday, it should have "kicked in" and made some sort of difference by now, so it may well be that you need a stronger type of anti-biotic to be prescribed.

Suggest you ring your doctor and make an appt to see him/her today, for an update and hopefully will prescribe you something stronger which should work.

Hope you better soon, tamirra

I suffered the same thing a few years back.
I to,was prescribed Amoxcillin.
You will find it will improve, hopefully, when you have finished the course. If not ask your
GP to check if another course is needed.
Hopefully though it will be ok after 7 days.

Thank you all, will keep check on it, and will go back if no improvement shows. Thank you.
I found I do better with cephalexin (Keflex) and they don't upset my stomach...hope you feel better soon.
Question Author
Hi i cant take cephalexin as last time i had them reacted badly to them, but thank you anyway. x
Tamirra,

daftgrandad may be right as sometimes you have to take the complete course for it too work. If you still feel no change after you finish them, call the doctor for a consult and next course of action. ( i'm sure you will be give stronger anti-biotics to get rid of it )

Good luck, my lovely
xx

Thank you Yogi xx
if you've gone deaf in the ear also it could have perforated the eardrum, this happened to me last year when I got an ear infection, I had to have a Tympanoplasty (filling the hole with cartalidge) and have since recovered most of my hearing, took me 12 months till I got the op though, living with a perforation for a whole year is hard, especially as I have a 2 year old!!! I'd get it checked again by doc, they'll tell you if it's perforated or not. x
Don 't know what your question is.....but guessing....the answer is YES, they will tell you if it is perforated again.
