Persistent tickly cough

Hi I've had a dry tickly cough for ages and gets so bad I'm almost vomiting and get breathless,I smoke but have got down to only 5-6 a day... any ideas ..thanks Twinny

try some antihistamines one a night. My mum used to cough all the time and a non smoke, she started taking these and it stopped. Morrisons or tesco do a cheap own brand. think its the morrisons one in red packet not the blue xx

Do you take any prescription medicines such as tables for blood pressure?

Then I would go and see your doctor. Blood pressure tablets often cause a persistent cough. It sounds as if you need a change of tablets. (not tables as in my previous posting!).

you could have asthma-in some people asthma comes out as a dry tickly cough that won't stop go see the doctor soon as you can, don't wait
