If you are around J9 - as you may know I have got the chromium plate for 4 teeth but am finding them extremely uncomfortable and tight. I do have an appointment next Thursday for dentist to perhaps loosen them.

Anyway I am sorry maybe that I should have gone for a bridge and indeed may go down that route.

I know 4 teeth are attached via crowns on each side but could you let me know what would sensation I would have at the BACK of the bridged teeth - do you just feel teeth or anything artificial. Thanks for your reply.

PS how are the 4 "false teeth" or rather are they cemented to the gums etc.

Excuse me interrupting your thread JJ, but I had a chromium plate way back in the Eighties, and it was a tight fit and uncomfortable for a time.

Since then, after further losses, I have a standard plastic plate and while perfectly comfortable, one tooth does keep breaking off, so I am contemplating the (more expensive) chromium plate at my next dental visit (in the late Autumn) so I would be interested in any comments appearing on this thread.

I hope you don't mind me sharing your thread, jointly we might get more responses !

well I am disappointed in my chromium cos in my head I sorta didn't think it was going to be a plate. I was imagining like a fine wire holding the teeth.

When I went to the dentist (a different one to the one who was dealing with me all through the process) he said this will be tight but treat like a pair of new shoes and you will be comfortable. Alas I sure am not comfortable I go back to the original dentist not this Thursday but the following Thurs and I may go down the bridge route. My teeth have been the bane of my whole life - I have been tortured with them.
I know the feeling JJ, it's over sixty years since I had my first plate (replacing one one tooth knocked out in a school playground fall).
The bridge will be attached to your own teeth either side.
