I had same problem and was introduced to Forever Living Aloe Versa with cranberry. It expensive but really works! I had about two bottles and was sorted. I am now a distributor.My advice is find an agent. Cheaper stuff doesn't work

I swear by 'movicol' polyethylene glycol

not ethylene glycol that is antifreeze and willl cure everything permanemly
All Bran red berry (or golden) crunch sorted me out! Very palatable too.
Acute or chronic?

Fybogel is very good. Gentle and very easy to take.
Do you know why you are constipated? and are there any other symptoms?
You could also try abdominal massage. It's a very gentle technique that can really get things moving. Just Google "stomach massage to relieve constipation". There's a useful PDF from Guys Hospital in London along with videos that demonstrate the technique.

Really need more information before proceeding with over the counter/homely remedies.
Maybe joe.s-b should consult their pharmacist.
Just a thought, I agree with quite a few replies above but I do know why I am currently taking a laxative - due to being on an opiate painkiller.
