I have just had an electro cardiogram test and the print out states "sinus rhythm, left axis deviation consistent with LAFB. No significant abnormalit
The report has gone to my GP and I won't be given the result.
What is the meaning of LAFB. I wonder?

Left Anterior Fasicular Block.

No big deal.
why wont you be given the results??
well for a start it is your data - so you can demand it as a right ( Data Protection )

but you can't demand an explanation ( that is you can demand the data only but not the significance )

misprint for LAHB - left anterior hemi-block

If you get the ECG - then the first three I, II and III are designed to go Up up up and in your case go up down down - = LAD

LAHB is where if you look at some of the V - leads instead of a mountain peak is W shaped.

No sig abormality is the erm significant comment

[ mine said rate 135 uncontrolled atrial fibrillation consistent with ischaemic heart disease ]

dont worry

If you want to read a book about it Schamroth is still good - in its sixth edition I think

oops not keeping up with the times
not a misprint !
