5y to the next election and counting ballots is laborious but necessary within time limits. There must be an easier foolproof method? Even postal votes need opening & counting.

We are in a digital age & the current system seems past its sell by date? Any suggestions for a paperless voting system?

They could have data entry terminals in each polling station- the results could then be available within minutes of the close of the ballot. I think there would be concerns though about civil liberties/privacy though since in theory there would be a central record of who you voted for

Every voter has an allotted number added to paper when they attend polling stn & postal votes. Some papers are uncounted due to misuse. (See my missive in link).

I know that, tamborine, but there are rules but it is very unlikely under the present system that anyone is going to manually match them all up to produce a record of who voted for which party- and unless there is a major conspiracy it seems very difficult to do given the controls in place.
