It started a couple of days ago, and its worse when I lean back on the sofa and when lying down in bed, I have to keep moving position to ease the pain.and its worse when I breath in.

Had a chest X-ray a month ago, as kept getting chest infections, and thats was OK.

I was wondering if it was a muscular problem?

Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a chill as this makes it sore when breathing in. However, I had something similar last year and I don't want to worry you, but it was diagnosed as unstable angina and I had to have a small procedure to fit a stent. I'd call NHS24 and discuss it with them.

I am going to assume that you are not taking any medication for any pre-existing medical conditions and that you are a non smoker.

\\\\.and its worse when I breath in. \\\\

That would suggest that it is not coming from the heart e.g angina.

\\\I was wondering if it was a muscular problem?\\\

I agree totally with your presumptive diagnosis.

Take pain killers e.g Ibuprofen and monitor the situation.

Thanks Squad,

I do in fact take a few medications for B/P, water tablets, statins and tablets for anxiety.
I also smoke about 3/4 ciggies a day.

Today I have noticed when I press on my chest with my hand, its very painful.
O.K trt...my opinion remains the same......and my advice.
