I am having yet another sinusitis attack. I doing as my ENT told me to, nasal spray, antihistamines a s nasal wash. But it's so miserable, I feel like my head is going to explode. I think it was brought on by sitting outside after the sun had gone down . Maybe by humidity ?

With due respect to all concerned......it sounds like migraine.

When you say your E.N.T man did the X-Rays show sinus problems and did he say that you had a displaced bone or polyps?
Question Author
No Sqad, I don't it's migraine. My head is full of mucus. He said I don't have polyps, just that my cornets were too narrow.. I think. He said an operation was the final option, but he said he wouldn't really recommend it as they could narrow again. Anyway that is how I understood it. But it is quite miserable and I am also concerned having so much mucus makes my breath smell bad. My little GD yesterday said Granma's mouth smells bad, I don't know though if that had anything to do with the vino I had had, and onions etc. do you think it could be due to my sinuses being inflamed ? I did mention it to my ENT, but he didn't seem concerned about that.
I have sympathy, I used to have recurrent sinusitis and it is so painful. What medication do you take, other than what you describe? I found that Sinutab was potent but very effective.
Question Author
I was told to take an antihistamine. I don't knownif we can get Sinutabs here i will try tomorrow.

How did you get rid of it Boxtops?
You still haven't mentioned about the X-rays......were they normal or not.....still not convinced about the diagnosis of sinusitis, but let's see how it goes.
Question Author
He said Theresa's nothing to worry about, supposedly normal. I had a CAT scan too. Actually Sqad, I really do appreciate your input and advice, but we went through all this a few months ago.
O.K....just like to get things clear in my own mind, as you are posting for advice.

I meant " there's"
Thanks Sqad, any advice is eagerly accepted
I have just rid myself of a dose of sinusitis Samurai. I'd never experienced this before. I used Otravine spray. I could only use for 7 days. After 7 days I still had a slight runny nose but, I could take air in, now gone completely.

Thanks Elna. I hope mine goes by the Easter w/e, we have a lot if things planned. But if I feel like I do today I won't want to do anything
Hi Samuraisan - there were two things that made a difference, I too started using a prescribed nasal spray, but the other thing's a bit more drastic. I stopped living with a heavy smoker - it made such a difference.

However like you I'd find I got a headache in the sun, or with strong smells (especially perfumes) - for me there was definitely a headache element too.

If I fee sinusy now, I rub Tiger Balm on my face above the affected area. Have you tried that? it stinks, but it works!
Question Author
Hi boxtop. I think with me it was more the humidity than the sun. Thinking back it has happened before. Next time I will put on one of my disposable japanese masks.... I feel. Bit btter this evening. I have just been relaxing all day. What a waste of a beautiful sunny day !
