Collapsed Thursday night with septicemia and double pneumonia.
Found myself in hospital, just got out. Looked pretty dodgy for a while but excellent work by Addenbrooke's pulled me through .
Will let you know how I get on.

Gosh...what a scare....take care, Eddie....and keep us updated....x
Eddie..hope you are feeling better now...had a dose of sepsis myself last year when I put the garden fork through my foot...not good..take care xx
Blimey EDDIE, hope you'll be ok.
I had much the same thing in 2010 after an operation went wrong. I'm still here and doing really well. Hope the same can be said for you in five years time.
glad you are back on, Eddie, Ed was worried about his advertising readership numbers!

Take care....
>>>septicemia and double pneumonia

Ruddy 'ell, what are they putting in the beer in your area, Eddie?
;-)

Get well soon and then treat yourself to a trip to the Flying Pig - purely for medicinal purposes, of course!
Great to hear you are recovering and that hospitals do good work
Continue to get back to full strength Eddie.x
Get well soon, I never heard of double pneumonia, I've had pneumonia during January, a lot better but reading your post makes me feel I got away lightly - wishing you good health from here on in
>>>I never heard of double pneumonia

It's actually the same thing as 'pneumonia' anyway. See the third paragraph here:
http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Pneumonia/Pages/Introduction.aspx
Thanks Chris, I came into the category low immune system and I've asthma - thankfully for most of it I was treated at home :)
I always understood that double pneumonia meant that both lungs were infected as opposed to one, bit I may be wrong.
That could be the answer Jackdaw, I just never heard of it - I'm glad Eddie's on the mend again though
"Double Pneumonia" is not a medical term....it is a "layman's term"....it means whatever you want it to mean.
Admitted on Thursday, home on Sunday with "pneumonia and septicaemia" that is good treatment..............and a quick recovery.

Get well soon.
Talking of layman's terms, I remember the phrase 'galloping consumption' to describe anyone with TB, at the time a fatal disease.
Jackdaw...LOL...so do I.
Almost miraculous methinks Sqad. :-)

Yes I had it in both lungs. Thank god I have never smoked.
What worries me is that I did spend 18 years working in an asbestos cement plant.
