But since he has been home he hasnt seen a nurse or doctor...He is still not at all well and it is very worring.. Has anyone else had this op? and could give some idea of how long he will still going to be feeling so bad..he is losing weight as doenst want to eat anything..although it is just mushy liquid food of course..

does he not want to see the nurse or doctor?
you say when he went in but when did he come out? Did he see a dietitian in hospital?
He should call his GP's surgery and ask for a visit from the district nurse.
Before he left hospital, plans should have been set in place for him to be followed up, whether it be home visits, return to the hospital for checks, or for the GP to monitor. He needs to ring his GP practice in the morning and ask what should be happening next.

Well he was in intensive care for three weeks... had to be put in an induced coma for a while becasue of the complications and couldnt breath properly for a while.. connected up to all sorts of tubes. then put in high depencdence side room...they sent him home last monday the 5th Jan....they said it would be a long haul but this lack of after care to me is terrible.. the hospital said about nurses going in every day but hasnt happened.
Cloverjo has the answer - he needs to contact his GP and ask for follow up care.
