No. Only see your GP if you need help with bad things like hot flushes etc.

Not a cat in hells chance of Pregnancy thank goodness....
"Should I get this checked?" No. There is no need.
Only if you start getting symptoms.
Everybody gets symptoms. You only need to go to the doctor if you decide to do something about the symptoms i.e. HRT
I don't think a visit to your practice nurse or GP would be a bad thing for something like a smear thest etc., if it's the change/menopause, maybe they could tlak to you about what to expect - I've been through it but everyone is different
237 - do they?
Not unless you want an internal to confirm the obvious
Why an internal?
237-------Not everyone gets symptoms.
how does an '' internal'' diagnose menopause ?
ummmm - pretty much. Might be emotional or physical - flushes, bone thinning etc. A friend of mine got the menopause in her late 40s and never had a symptom but five years later, she has developed a prolapsed womb (she`s never had kids). Both her mother and her sister had it as well. Apparently it`s a symptom of the menopause with her and if the estrogen pessaries don`t work, she will have to have an operation. She never saw that coming.

I guess Ovarian cancer can be a bit of a *** at my sort of age and yes I have been reading the Daily Mail!!!!
Was going to say that my mum never complained of symptoms.
In answer to your question, you don't need a gp to formally diagnose the menopause, you'll know your own body and how it works
An internal has nothing to do with proving menopause. Only blood tests for hormone levels can do that. Unless you get symptoms that bother you why go to a GP.
Most women do get symptoms but don't always relate them to the menopause.
Do nothing, but celebrate!
I was 50 when it all stopped. Oh joyous day... The only downside to it all was getting osteoporosis so I have to now take meds for that and get yearly scans.
Jan what meds do you take for it. I have had osteoporosis for 20 years and only take my own calcium/magnesium supplement.
