I have my 83 old gran staying over. She has just been discharged from hospital into my care. Problem is my auntie has the foot rests to the her lightweight Enigma wheelchair in the back of her car and she is away. Any ideas on what I can do to either borrow or buy the foot rests or rent a wheelchair for the weekend? I am based in Greenwich South East London. I have phoned SS and Greenwich Wheelchair Services, no joy as yet. I am in the process of contacting Age Concern too.

It is a pity you did not realise this before discharge as I am sure the Occupational Therapist could perhaps have arranged something (maybe still can) on a temporary basis.Maybe the Red Cross could lend you one over the week-end,but that is problem it IS the week-end.Good luck.

I told them before she was discharged, but they couldn't help. They gave us a zimmer. I phoned the Red Cross, they gave me number in Gravesend, will try that. Thanks :)
Sorry not to be of more help, good luck!
Just googled it and Access and mobility services in London may be able to help, even may lend you the footrests for the week-end worth a try!
