Hi, my mortgage will finish this year. I just wondered when you pay off that final lump sum, what do you expect back from the bank. My bank is Barclays and I just dont trust them at all. Will all the deeds of the property etc be handed over to me ? Or does the Bank keep these ? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm surprised the bank has the deeds cluttering up their space- mine sent mine back ages ago since deeds for registered titles are held electronically now.
If the banks are the same as the building societies you get a latter confirming all paid.

I also got one from land registry (I think) informing me I could pay for certificate info.
